I will describe below the activity we created for the last part of our course in this subject.
The activity consists in telling a story and based on this story, we have to prepare a game. My team, Elmer the Elephant, decided to use the tale "Julita la mariquita", which was invented by us for the subject "Expresión y Comunicación".
We have translated into English our tale, which is called now "Deborah the ladybug". The tale tells the story of Deborah, a ladybug with yellow and bright wings instead of red, like all the other ladybugs. Everybody likes Deborah the way she looks, but she was sad because her wings make her different, and her mother paints them in red and Deborah goes to school, but nobody says hello to her, because they do not recognize her. When the teacher Miss Rose sees Deborah, she tells her that her yellow wings are loverly and that is what makes her special and that everyone is dfferent. Deborah takes a bath and her wings are red again. She decides not to change them anymore, she likes herself the way she is.
With this story we want to work the self-esteem, the animals and the colors, specially red and yellow.
The game based on this story that we will play, is going to be gymkhana, I really hope you will enjoy it, Cristina!
We will tell the story and play the gymkhana on Thursday, as we will be working on "Deborah the ladybug" during the week, for example we will sing a song that we have created ourselves for the children.
I have the feeling that this activity is going to be hard for us to be done, because it is quite dense and this second and last term in our course is very short and we already feel the pressure of our last exams. I hope I don't get overwhelmed, but I will do my best to create a good job with Deborah, the ladybug.
Diary of the "Deborah the ladybug" activity
Week of 9-15 January
On January 11th. we started with this activity, we organized it and we agreed to used our Julita la mariquita tale translated into English. The day after, I bought the material needed for the preparation of the activity.
Week of 16-22 January
We started with the material creation of our tale, which is done with felt and we also created the roulette, which we will make go round and when it stops, the arrow will be pointing an animal that appears in the tale, and the children will go to the corner of that specific animal and will do some activities there.
On the 18th. we continued painting the tale and the roulette, which we finished.
Week of 23-29 January
On the 23rd. we continued with the tale and we created the animals of the tale with felt which will be used to decorate Deborah's mirror which will be used at the end of the gymkhana. On the next day we worked on the same task, we finished all the animals and on the 25th., we drew lots for the tasks of the Word document.
That day we received the activity we prepared for Christmas, and we were kind of disappointed, as our calification was a 9, and we all exptected a higher one.
We will do our best go get a higher calification with Deborah the ladybug, although we worked already very hard with the Christmas activity.
Week of 30 January-5 February
During this week we prepared the decoration for our performance of Deborah the ladybug: animals of the tale, a bathtub that will even include bubbles!!
In the first picture it's me painting the bathtub with which we will decorate the classroom, in the second picture it's me painting the bathtub being very serious🤣 and in the last picture it's me and my classmates painting the bathtub.

Wednesday 1st. I went to buy the rest of the materials needed.
We have most of the activity already done, but time for exams is each time closer, and I am getting overwhelmed.
Week of 6-12 February
Monday 6th. Elmer the elephant team met to organize the whole activity more in deep; we decided who will be the classmates that will act as our pupils, etc. We also created with the Canva application some materials for the gymkhana.
We prepared some ladybugs made with cardboard. On the 7th., we worked on Deborah's mirror creation and I also prepared the printed texts of the tale, but finally we decided not to use them, because they did not look very nice sticked on the tale made with a special cardboard. February 8th., we kept on working with Deborah's mirror, but we could not do very much, because we had to take our Orla picture.
During the evening, and with my cousin's help I prepared the music for Deborah's song.
Week of 13-19 February
Deborah's mirror and the ladybugs made with cardboard was finished.
On Tuesday, we held another meeting to make a brainstorming on what we think about the outcome of our activity. On the same day, we were able to prepare the rest of the pieces of the 5 puzzles that I have started to prepare the evening before.
Nerea and Paula presented their cardboard with the coupons to the rest o fthe team.
On Wednesday 15h., we gathered materials to create bubbles disposals for our role of teachers, to be used for the performance of the gymkhana.
Week of 20-26 February
During this week, we started with our exams and we were absolutely stressed. Monday 20th. we stayed to practise and prepare some of the activities of the gymkhana, for example, we tested our homemade bubble tubes. We also created the flowers to feed the bees and the bees themselves. On the 21st. we did our first examn.Tuesday and Wednesday I stayed at home, I feel sorry about that, but I had to study and to work, but I spent the weekend before preparing and writing all the word document for this task.
Week of 27 February-5 March
On Monday 28th. the first presentation took place, my classmates perform the "Three little pigs" tale. I enjoyed it a lot, specially the puppets. At the end of it, we all received a candy.
The day after, Wednesday 1, two oher teams presented their activities. 1 of them told the story of a very funny rabbit, Aitana Recio and myself played as volunteers and we received a medal, a diploma and a carrot with many candies in it. The other group told the story of a dragon.
My team spent that Wednesday to arrange part of our Deborah's gymkhana, in order to have it already prepared for next Monday and to not have to waste too much time with it.
During the Thursday we kept on arranging the activities of the gymkhana, such as the creation of the bees, the flowers to feed them, and the creation of the bubble tubes.
On Friday 3rd., I prepared my part of the presentation as well as Deborah's song, etc.
On Saturday I went to the shop to buy my grasshopper's constume and on Sunday I finished with the decoration of my costume, as the bought on Saturday could not be used. I also created the cards that will be used for each activity in the gymkhana and the arrow for the roulette. I also learned my part of the presentation.
Today, I have changed my personality to become Hopper, the grasshopper and I went to the institute with all the material needed. We finished with all the decoration of the room for our activity. Then we went to see performance of Aitana and Celia's team, and I really like what they did.
Then our "Elmer the Elephant" team had to do its performance. Everything went as it should go, with some unforeseen failures, as internet did not work. I was a little dissappointed with the outcome, because we worked really hard, and the performance did not run as smoothly as I would like it to run.
Today is my last entrance in this blog. It has been very useful for me as I have had to remember my work day by day, I was writing in a paper the activities and also I was taking pictures to copy them in this blog.Now time for me to go to Hamburg comes, and as said at the beginining of this blog, this will be another piece of me to be shared with you in the future.
