HALLOWEEN

After the trial period with Emotions, now our calification period is here!! Teacher has asked us to work on a Halloween activity, that consists in pretending that we are in an early childhood education class working during Halloween time with Halloween tasks. The "Elmer the elephant" group created an activity with numbers.  

We first showed some flash-cards to the children, these cards included Halloween vocabulary.

After that, we distributed two worksheets among the children: one of them with a variable number of Halloween related images: 2 vampires, 3 pumpkins, etc. and the other one with the same images and numbers beside them. The children had to place a gomet under the right number of the images.  (see below pictures).

Week of 3-9 October

On October 4th., we started with this activity and on the 5th., we kept on working on this activity. We bought Halloween gomets  and diadems online to be used for our activity.

Week of 10-16 October

On the 11th., we plastic covered the flash-cards and the worksheets already mentioned and we also created part of the Google document.

Week of 17-23 October

On the17th. we worked on the Google document and the day after we prepared manual crafts for our activity.

On the 19th., we worked on the Google document and in the afternoon I went to the library to continue preparing manual crafts to decorate the classroom.

October 21st., we continue with the same preparation of manual crafts

and over the weekend I was fulltime working on this activity, preparing my part of it, specifically "The role of the teacher" andpreparing the cardboard for the parents to know the Halloween activities of their children,

Week of 24-30 October

The first day we were very nervous, as we were the first group to present the activity, but my feeling is that everything ran smoothly and quite well.

The two days after, my colleagues presented their activities. I really enjoyed watching them, as shown with the following pictures. All the activities are a clear proof of the hard job done by all of us. I felt very proud.

Week of 31 October-6 November

On the 2nd. the last presentation took place .I also enjoyed it a lot.

My personal opinion of this activity, is that it  was finally done much better than what I believed in the begining. I have spent many hours in preparing it, because I think it is a very important task, but I have to recognize that I enjoyed doing it, as Halloween is one of my favourite period.

Regarding working in a team, I can confirm that we have all work properly.

Now I know how to work Halloween with my kids.
